Where do black pendants work best?
Black shades stand out most against light ceilings and walls. In a dark room, choose a black shade with a white or gold inner so it still throws plenty of light downwards.
Do black shades make a room darker?
A metal shade pushes light straight down. That is ideal for task light over an island or table, but it gives little light to the ceiling, so add wall lights or a ceiling light in larger rooms.
Matching finishes
Matt black pairs well with brass, oak, concrete and white tiles. Most Ideal Lux black pendants have a matching black ceiling rose and cable.
Island spacing
